Smells of my apartment building….

Sometimes I worry…

D. has interesting eating habits. For days she will reject every apple slice, green bean, bit of pumpkin, carrot stick, or green pepper cube I put in front of her and refuse to eat any protein, either. She will subsist on carbohydrates: Crackers, bread, pasta, and potato. And just about when I start worrying about her she will eat an entire giant banana and the biggest apple I’ve ever seen in the space of 30 minutes, for lunch. And then she will ask for yogurt and chicken and cheese and eat some more. And then I think, it must average out somehow, right?

Well.

I am a quarter of a century old today. I am nowhere near where I thought I would be at 13. Thankfully, nowhere near where I feared I would be at 16. Not even close to where I thought I would be just 5 years ago. But this place, at 25, is a pretty good place. I’ve got more than I mostly dared to dream of. And despite the ups and the nasty, occasionally terrifying downs, it’s only getting better.

Today is particularly fantastic.

Eau de Old Folks Home: Stale potroast, lysol, and some sort of overly sweet, older lady perfume.
